Moving

I wonder if you knew that I had any goodbyes
I'm beginning to see you were just another face
Another lock and key I mistook for a doorway
Another wall for a window

I wonder if you caught on to my heart ache
Your charms are fading and now I see that, again
I fool myself for the fear of never knowing love
And with you I have faltered greatly

I wonder if you saw my longing
I can't help but hold on to a little of what you left behind
It's always with me, but still
The knot in my stomach doesn't twist like before

I wonder if you could catch my thoughts
Your dreams invaded mine and in each one I caught you
Now your image disturbs me, leaves me restless
I push you away

I wonder if you felt my smile on you
The sudden urge to collapse into your arms and wrap my body around your soul
doesn't hold me like it used to
The reminder that I could never have you
Doesn't choke me like before

I wonder if you ever knew
