Unrequited Love

There were times she felt secure, able to comprehend her feeling but not tonight. Alexia was lost in memories of her perpetual yet unrequited love. She was used to this, being in love knowing the person she was in love with had no feelings for her whatsoever. It was a long and lonely night for her. She knew did not feel or was going to feel for that matter, the warmth and company of the man she loved.

There was a time in her life where everywhere she turned she was admired and loved by all who knew her. At those times she was not in love, and didn't feel the slightest sensation you feel when you are with someone whom you feel your heart begin to race when you see him, or even hear his voice. When you are with him you feel all your problems vanish for those few moments. Her life was perfect as she described it. There was a man on which caught her eyes and she fell head over heels for him. There were problems that spawned from that unrequited love.

He was in love with another and it tore her up inside more than anything in this world. Every time she spoke to him, saw him, felt him near, she felt her heart begin to pound so hard it was about to explode from her chest. She did not know what to do, and still to this day she is clueless. She has told him how she felt numerous of times though every time she did, he stood there silent, without a word to say. She didn't know if it was because he didn't want to break her heart by telling her he didn't feel the same way or if the reason was because he doesn't know the problems that will spring from that predicament and doesn't want to take the risk. Either way she felt her heart tearing apart more and more with each passing day.

Numerous of times she would think,

"Maybe I should just move on and forget about him",

but then she would begin to cry and realized that it would hurt her more. She was in a situation on which she was lost. There was no way in turning back time and never falling in love in the first place. She wanted so much for all the pain and suffering to disappear and her life to return to the way it was before she dragged herself into this mess. But there was no turning back, she had to continue moving forward though she knew the it wasn't worth it. He did not love her, nor like her for the matter.

This was going to be a long and lonely night for her. She sat on the branch of a large oak tree in the middle of the eastern forest, looking up at the sparking stars that inhabited our celestial sphere, thinking all this through her head over and over again. She sighed softly as a single tear escaped her eye and rolled slowly down her right cheek. Thats all she was able to do, cry for the one she wished she had. She wished upon the stars dozens of times to give her a sign on what she should do, but the only response she would get were the rare yet beautiful shooting stars that seemed to go on end. She whispered to herself,

"What should I do?"
