Goodbye (For Bop)

by bobo2011   Jan 30, 2007

I didn't get to say goodbye.
I never got to tell you
How much I love you
Or how much you mean to me.

Now you're gone
And I'm trying to read something
But the tears keep coming
And they just won't stop.

I kept thinking you didn't care anymore
But you lost your memory
So what can I say?
What can we do?
You were a vegetable
Lying on that bed
Just drifting into Heaven

You were just waiting
For me to know you loved me
And you can bet whatever you want
On the fact I will never forget it again.

I can't blame you.
I can't blame David.
I can't blame Mama.
I can't blame anyone
For me not being there
To say goodbye on that Sunday night.

There was nothing they could do
And now you are in a better place
And you left me behind
To sort out this jigsaw puzzle
Some people call life and love.

I wanted you to see me graduate;
Get married and have kids.
I wanted to be there when you passed on
So I could say goodbye.

Within I'm dying.
I love you, Bop.
I never want you to forget it.

While we are seperated
And until I get to Heaven
To see you once again
I hope you know
I'm still your Wrecker Girl.

Whenever I smell the inside of a rig,
I'll think of you.
Whenever I see grease
Or an Indian artifact or even a dream catcher,
Whenever I smell the incense you burned,
I'll think of you and the Redneck Lake
And all of the rides in the Redneck Truck.
I'll never forget you.
I never will forget you, my Bop.
