Irony of Unrequitedness

The past seems only yesterday
It's hard to believe what slept away
Away for a girl patiently waiting
For a man to return the feeling

She can only handle so much
She can only hold on for so long
But when she gets tired of such
She will learn to love another man

And it is sad when the man she has been dreaming of
Starts to fall for her, and returns her love
In a time when she is happy
With someone other than he.
