My Hero

by Miranda   Feb 1, 2007

When I was young you read me kids books
With everything youd say Id always agree
Eight years older you always seemed so smart
You were my everything I looked up to you dearly

When I was young home alone and scared
You kept me safe, you were my fighter
Came and sat by me with a gun and a knife
Later found out it was only a lighter

When I was young I probably annoyed you
But never once did you let it show
You are my fighter, I loved you so much
Just thought I should let you know

When I was young I almost lost you a couple times
Once in particularly gave us all a great scare
I heard a scream from mom "Well is he alive"
I knew you were hurt and it just wasnt fair

When I was young you seemed invincible
Came so close to death but always walked away
Your life just wasnt ready to end
Even with a broken back you made it through the day

Im no longer young and your twenty-four
Your back still isnt one-hundred percent better
Just still so glad you could be here today
Your still my hero, love your little sister
