Day Dreams

by Tamela Johnson   Feb 3, 2007

Staring out the window while sitting in class
My teachers lecture seems off in the distance
As I remember days that have passed

Looking into your eyes and feeling
All is right with the world
And
The feeling that nothing can
Harm me as long as you
Are my man and I
Am your girl

Laying in your arms and feeling it was
Just hard to believe that you were here
With me.

Then my dream starts to fade as we
Just fell apart because
Someone else came along and
Filled the place where you held
Me in your heart.

I shed tears and tried to remain
As you worked out your feelings for my place
Filler that was totally insane

Because there was no words for the
Way I felt for you but I wasted far too long
Trying to hold on to that which
Had already gone.

So I hang my head in defeat
And now I have taken steps
Back to take care of me
And place my feelings and heart
Under lock and key
Away from the public to see

Because in reality all these day dreams are useless to me
