Belief

by The DaveJon   Feb 4, 2007

The breaking rock
The slowing stream
The howling wind

The hair that rises
The tingling on the back of your neck
The throbbing of your heart

The feel of her fingers
The warmth of her fading smile
The pain of her tears

The shortness of breath
The tensing muscles
The ache in your chest

Her anguish rolling off of her
Your betrayal ringing in her ears
The blood covering the ground

The painful loss
The weakness that won
The tears brimming in your eyes

The cold grasp of silence
The fear coursing your veins
The guilt rising in your throat

The bowed head
The desperate fingers
The shattered soul

Tell me truly
Tell me now
Do you still believe?
