Dead to be Gone

by The DaveJon   Feb 4, 2007

Forced to stay
Watching the waters of the bay
Hands chained behind him
The pounding waves of the sea in the dim

They took his heart
Leaving a feeling in his mouth so tart
The pain welling up
Overfilling his allotted cup

Wanting to leave this life
Enter the sea away from this strife
The shadows emerging
The pain destroying

The friends that are gone
The love stories that are done
The silence that kills
The eyes, with tears fills

A soulless man
To whom people ran
When problems rained down
On their tattered crowns

He gave his all
And answered every call
Wishing to have a love
More beautiful than a dove

But no love was foretold
And his wings bent and had to fold
To end it all, was his desire
But no one would light the funeral pyre

So he came to the sea
And in his last desperate plea
Cast all his love to the sky
To reach those that he was loved by

He stepped off the edge of the dock
The hands slowly ticking on the clock
And he sank deep
To his final prison Keep
