That Night

by Nicole   Feb 4, 2007

It was just a loud and crazy night,
with just a few little drinks.
there was bottles strewn everywhere,
not a problem you would think.

They came out of the house that night,
in search of better things,
they jumped into the car that night,
and thats where it begins.

There was two inside the car that night,
with six upon the tray,
all they wanted was a little more fun,
and thought this was the only way.

The first boy, the soberest of the lot
thought he would take the wheel,
we watched in awe at such a site,
but they dont know how we feel.

The taillights dimmed and faded,
and they where soon out of site,
but from down on the street we heard,
them jeering with all of their might.

Four girls sat down and worried that night,
waiting for the sound of a car,
their faces taught with much awaited hope,
and hoped the boys hadnt gone far.

The roads where wet and slippery that night,
so the tires just wouldnt grip,
and all the while the girls stood still,
waiting to hear the car flip.

Soon the girls realised there was no point,
just to sit and anticipate the worst,
they hopped in their car and drove off,
more sensible than the first.

Not a sign or word came from the guys,
as the girls drove along that night.
The usual chatter always brought back,
to the question were they alright?

Until they spotted two headlights approaching,
and saw a red car drive by,
saw it serve onto the other side of the road,
and thats when the girls started to cry.

For they saw the pole looming closer,
and watched the boys eyes grow wide,
they watched as they jammed on the breaks,
watched the car turn over on its side.

Three boys where flung from on the tray,
three clung on for dear life ,
one ignored the seatbelt rule,
the glass cutting through him like a knife

Broken bodies were strewn everywhere,
blood stained the grass like paint,
two seconds too late the girls arrived on scene,
with one falling over in a faint.

The three girls screamed in terror,
and fell down to their knees,
crawling and crying towards the boys,
Oh god, help us please!

All the girls could do was stare in shock,
as their worst nightmare came true,
how could this be happening they cried
as the body toll just grew and grew

The girls ran from boy to boy,
checking for any hints of movement,
they caught a slight glimmer of life,
which was some what of an improvement.

As the others failed to move a limb,
The movement, only came from one,
the driver offcourse, stayed with the living,
after an action which couldnt be undone

It was then the girls realised the fate,
of their beloved and beautiful guys,
there was so much blood, for anyone to see,
because seven of them where to die.
