I hadn't picked you up
for a long time it seemed to be
you hid in my drawer
buried, i controlled my safety

i hadn't had the chance
to guide you across my wrist
i had finally realized
i couldn't live like this

but then that day came
i took you from that place
i broke a promise to a friend
caused tears to roll down my face

but it wasn't the pain,
i was crying for,
it was that i broke that promise
not the blood that i saw

i tried to fight the temptation
