My Side

My Side
They speak against innocents. They speak for the guilty.
Within me the weights of justice are being unbalanced.
Have I really become something as cruel as Hades?
This was never my fault;
it's my left shoulder scarred with talons.
If life is really good against evil, I fear I may lose.
In fact, I believe I have already lost the ability to choose.
The demons dance on my left shoulder, being my conscience
and my mind,
as the angels look over and, flailing, remove their white
glow and join the other side.
Even if this left side isn't the right side, does it make
it the wrong?
Left side, right side . . . .
Welcome, this is my side.
Maybe in your eye, his eye, their eyes.
Behold, I am really God and come to take you to the wild side.
