Farewell (not a poem)

by Briana Ault   Feb 7, 2007

As I drove along the winding road, my spirits began to lift. I knew that even though we were apart, I'd see you again someday. While next time might be different, my soul was uplifted by the thought, no the hope, that perhaps it would be the same. Then my mind was tormented by the possibility that it might be years before i saw your smiling face again, and i had to remove my thought from that horrible possibility, to the memories of the very few days we spent with each other.
