Something Unpredictable

by GraCiE   Feb 8, 2007

He had an illness
but he didn't question why
The only thing he knew
Was he was gonna die
Yesterday he told me and I began to cry
It made me realise how quickly life does pass us by

Cos its something unpredictable,
It makes me question why
Why do they take loved ones to the sky?

He told me in confidence
I swore I wouldn't tell
But knowing he might die
Is worse than being in hell
But how can I support him when I cant support my self?
This results in feelings better left up on the shelf.

Cos it's something unpredictable
It makes me question why,
Why do they take loved ones to the sky?

Another corner brings another big surprise,
This means more doctors and another bunch of lies,
He knows the truth he does,
But they cant bear to say ;
"you might die tomorrow, next week or today."

Cos it's something unpredictable,
It makes me question why,
Why do they take loved ones to the sky?

He lays at rest, he lays in peace, he lays asleep,
How can this be right when I'm broken at his feet?
I miss the way he laughed, the way he fooled around
But now he's up above with angles all around

Cos its something unpredictable,
It makes me question why,
Why do they take loved ones to the sky?

The message in your poem was great. The unanswered question will always remain......Why?
As for critique of your poem, watch for spelling mistakes. There were a couple in the poem but the overall message was not disturbed from this. The flow of the poem was really nice. I found myself putting music to the poem and found it's flow to be much easier when I did this.
    Thanks for the comment.
    Keep writing.
