My Tribute to You

You're like my shadow on the ground.
I was always who you had found.
When I was sad, hurt, or lost,
the pain of life, away you tossed.

My back is what you always had,
when I was confused, crushed, or mad.
Everytime I'd feel alone,
you are who I would phone.

When I had gone through hell and back,
that sweet compassion, you did not lack.
Through my sobs, you would hold me
and wipe my tears so I could see.

As I remenisce upon our past,
I wonder how long we will last.
Sometimes it feels as if forever.
Our broken friendship will happen never.

Conversations that'd last for hours,
cards that were given, along with with flowers,
red lights ran, and a simple tease,
are only some sweet memories.

So this is a tribute to you, you see,
for always caring and loving me.
So in return, I will say,
my debt to you, I will pay.

It may not be 10 years from now,
and I might not even be sure of how.
But some day you will understand,
together for always, hand in hand.

The love I have for you is real,
no matter what may happen, or how you feel.
Even if we should ever part,
you'll always have my tender heart.
