Guile

by Lenny   Feb 9, 2007

By day
It hides
Behind
A smile
Revels, in
The deepest
Guile

Resides in,
The black
Of brain
And stores
Itself
Like clouds
Do rain

But,
By night
Pursuit it
Seeks
And with
No love
Revenge
It reaps

For being
Stored
Away all
Day
My sadness comes
To make
Me pay

It comes
In tears
It comes in pain
It trickles
Out
And leaves
Its stain

And testing as
Those times
May be
My sadness
Is
A part
Of me

By day
It hides
Behind my smile
But, by night
I face
The trial.

I loved the "like clouds/do rain" and "and leaves/its stain" -- awesome format, really worked well. Kinda disappointed at the end. Maybe because the word "denial", but there's also something else, i think, that doesn't quite add up with the rest of the poem. really goodjob th0
