Dark Life

by Kyleene   Feb 11, 2007

Life is so complicated
With births and deaths
Hope and heartache
Why can't reality be simple?
Wars are fought overseas
And many loved ones are lost
Disease is spreading
There isn't anyway to prevent these disasters
Hurricanes and tornadoes
Devastation is left in their paths
Many bleed inside and out
While others feel the salty streams of tears
Lives are exterminated within seconds
Because no one thinks about the consequences of their actions
Isn't everyone partly alike?
We can't really live without each other
So why do we demolish one another's lives?
The Golden Rule is never truly followed:
Treat others how you wish to be treated
Mass murderers are our neighbors
And child molesters live inside our homes
Abused women are our best friends
Drug addicts and alcoholics are who we envy and look up to
Why must this world be filled to the brim with turmoil and demented thoughts?
This earth is full of black hearts, words, and actions
And a constant fog of sin is blocking our vision
This is a painfully dark life
