its first time down
soon it faded
all that was left
a feeling
a memory
then nothing
nothing
no more

the empty cup
so soon discarded
dropped and forgotten
like old news
or a childhood friend

    This has the makings of a good piece. You clearly have the imagination to write some pieces that are mature beyond your years, but this starts out well and ends so abruptly, and on such an evocative fact of life that I felt I was reading something completely unfinished.

    It is no way bad poetry, but it is far from "short but sweet".
