That Grassy Hill

by Rachel   Feb 13, 2007

"Wow. The sky is bright tonight," he says to me
As we sit upon that grassy hill
He looks at me in the eyes
Whispering about what he wants to for fill.

Your probably wondering why I said
"That Grassy Hill,"
I'll never forget it
Never have...Never will.

This place
This piece of earth
Gave me a new life
A new birth

This is where
We first kissed
And where long conversations
Do exist

In other words
This is where I met him
This is where
We did so many things

"Wow,
Who knew the stars could shine so bright,"
We continue to talk
And never fight

Then those 3 words
Every girl is dying to hear
Leak from his lips
Without any fear

At first i hesitate
To say it in return
I don't wanna get hurt
I have learned

But he is different
He is sweet and kind
He's funny and creative
Has a good mind

"I...I...I love you too,"
I stutter, looking into his eyes
He smiles and they sparkle
Like the stars in the sky

I say it again
instead with more confidence
He looks at me
With me reassurance

He is the man
I wish to be mine
He doesn't need
To be rich or fine

All I can say
Is that I am in love
All I can do
Is thank the Lord above

Thanks for all
He has given me
Without him
I don't know where I'd be

Maybe,
I'd be on that Grassy Hill,
Waiting...
For him still.
