Underneath

by Rachel   Feb 12, 2007

She is beautiful
Brown eyes and brown hair
She's so loving
Everything to share

But underneath
her make-up and clothes
Is a trouble bubbling
That nobody knows

Her mom is an alcoholic
Her dad left when she was born
Her brother is in jail
So shes is always ignored

One day this girl
Finds her brothers gun
She loads it and puts it to her head
Because she has nowhere to run

She decided to write
A suicide note
About why she killed herself
And how it was to much to cope

'Dear family,' she began
And got half way down the page
She thought about what she was doing
'This is my last stage."

She stops ahead of time
Then she opens a door
Walks into the bathroom
And lays on the floor

And pulls out a razor from under the sink
Pushes it against her wrist
And starts to cry
She knew it would come to this

Blood is everywhere
She passes out and hits her head
On the floor and cracks open her skull
Now she's dead

Her mom walks in and screams
When she sees her baby girl down there
Her hands tremble as she touches her face
And her hair

Her mom dialed 911
And then she saw the note
"Why?" she asked, "Why?"
As she read what her daughter had wrote

A few days later they had a funeral
And paid their respects
Her mother died from on overdose
From all the regrets

Nobody knew
What was going on
Beneath her happiness
Now we know, but she is gone.
