Trapped Inside

by Amy R.   Feb 13, 2007

He's an actor in a mask;
That covers up the inside, and scars of the past.
Masquerading an identity he wishes was his own,
Never satiated with his life; the one he lives alone.
Pretentious on the outside, no-one will ever know,
The way he is inside, how he hates the one deep down.
All the lies and deception, he wants to let go,
But won't tell a soul, for fear the world will know.
Pretending life is grand, he runs his show each day,
Trying to believe it's reality, this superficial plan.
Maybe one day that actor in the mask,
can take it off forever, and feel free at last.
