The Strangest Thing

by Turtle   Feb 15, 2007

I have seen the strangest thing
I have seen a light in the shadows
I have seen the strangest thing

I have seen lifeless flesh
Tightened on bones with life
I have seen the strangest thing

Their bodies never tire
And I don’t know why
I have seen the strangest thing

They are the poor and famished
They are the starved and damned
I have seen the strangest thing

But through their eyes they smile
From the dust beneath the rich
I have seen the strangest thing

They believe, they dance, they sing
Their blind faith brings them joy
I have seen the strangest thing

They have seen the eyes of Death
And they have not been shaken
I have seen the strangest thing
