They Don't Know(eating disorder)

by Nicole   Feb 15, 2007

They all think she's perfect.
Her life couldn't be better.
The pretty face,
Shiny, long blond hair,
Popular friends.
What more could you ask?
But nobody can see her hidden problems
Behind this gorgeous mask.

They don't see her pain,
Only her believable disguise.
They can't see what's really going on,
Or see the true sadness
Behind those beautiful brown eyes.

They don't know about her disorder.
They don't know about her mistakes.
They don't know about her pain.
They don't know about all those tears
That secretly keep falling like rain.

They think she's got it all
With the looks and hot style.
But they don't know how she really feels
Behind that big fake smile.

She's got that "perfect" body,
Cool clothes,
And perfect skin.
But they don't see the ugly lies
That she has built up from within.

She's got so many mixed emotions,
So many secrets.
Ones that she must hide.
She's afraid to let her feelings show.
The feelings she's been keeping inside.

Some might be jealous
Of her so called "perfect" life.
But there are secrets that she holds.
The secret of jealousy,
How she wants what others have.
And she's afraid the truth will soon unfold.

She hides her fears,
Holds back tears,
And tries to take her own pain away.
But nothing seems to work.
She's such a hopeless mess.
But she still tries hard to face each day.

She's sick of it all.
Sick of the frustration.
Sick of lying awake at night.
Just sick of the world,
Sick of what she has become.
And sick of all her battles she must fight.

You see, don't judge this girl
Who seems to have it all.
Her true self has not yet shown.
She's really not perfect.
She's got those secrets stored inside.
And those secrets remain unknown.
