Saying Goodbye

When you said goodbye
you expected me to cry
you expected me to plead
and beg you not to leave

Instead i said OK
and turned the other way
i didn't want you to see
what you were doing to me

i didn't want you to feel any guilt
because of the relationship we had built
I had thought we were so strong
but you knew we wouldn't last long

I don't want to cry
I just want to say goodbye
I don't want you to know
I'm not ready to let you go
