SHADOW IMAGE

by Shamar   Feb 19, 2007

My fingers touched her warm shoulders, and I squeezed. Gazing into the mirror, I saw darkened imprints in her perfect skin, as if her flesh was being molded by invisible, ghostly hands. I shuddered at the sight of the violent tremble tracing down her throat. She raised her head, and her eyes opened. I saw her deep eyes grow bottomless as she looked into the mirror and saw nothing behind her. Her scream echoed in my ears, and her silent screaming thoughts slashed into my mind. Instead of the mingling of dream and truth I had found before, there was only fear and confusion by a gnawing dread. Her dream was lost in the wake of reality.
