Lookin in the mirror

She is looking at herself
Into this dusty mirror
Trying so hard to see
Hoping it will get clearer

All her life being told
Things that made her down
Seeing only what they said
Afraid that they were right

Believing in their words
She wasn’t good enough
Dare to think they were wrong
And that beauty lie beneath

New words are spoken
From a love so dear
Can what once learned be broken
And new truth be grown

She is looking in the mirror
Hoping to believe loves words
Does she have the strength
To leave what she once new behind
