Too Good To Be True

by buffduff   Feb 20, 2007

I remember that moment,
When our eyes met across the room,
Fireworks went off inside me,
And you just smiled.

We spent the whole night chatting,
The drink kept on flowing,
You seemed too good to be true,
Who could have known you were.

Wooing me back to yours,
With declarations of love,
Promises of a happy future,
That night seemed so magical.

But I woke up alone,
An empty bed in a silent room,
Just gone without a trace,
Leaving me feeling so alone.

I almost ran home,
Feeling so used and dirty,
Couldn't believe how stupid I was,
To think I was worth more then that.

Simply another notch on your bedpost,
And another cut to my heart,
Just wish I could have a relationship,
One that wasn't built on lies.
