Ungreatful

by Maria   Feb 21, 2007

I haven't written in awhile so it's a little shabby

People take it for granted every single day,
Other people thank god for it, at night when they pray.
Day by day i think of terrible things, speechless,
not sure what to say.
The soldiers in Iraq, the children without a decent coat,
to cover their cold backs.
Homeless, no food to eat.
Maybe you'll think twice now, the next time you ask,
"why me"
Hurricanes hit, homes are lost.
We can take for granted what we're lucky enough to have
unlike most.
Unnecessary things,
like priceless cars and diamond rings.
People go crazy, what an unthoughtful thing
Those complaining, "my life's over",
stupid teenage heartbreaks,
get over it for heaven's sake.
Life's a gift,
yet many don't see,
life's too short to drown,
in ungrateful tears.
So next time you don't get what you want,
think twice,
there's someone else out there who'd give anything
to have your life..
