Missing pieces

by Cari   Feb 21, 2007

Missing pieces of my heart
I'm left with holes that just seem to grow
Cauing all the pain to start
Causing all the tears to flow.

Every so often another piece is taken.
Unwillingly, I watch them go.
Unwillingly, I take the hurtful blow.

Day by day, these pieces become harder to find.
Week by week, I slowly seem to lose my mind.
Months go by as I try to fight,
Until years pass with no answer in sight.

On day I fear I'll be left hollow
And Empty to the core.
To many pieces missing.
I'll simply fall to the floor.

I'll reach the end of the line.
Slowly deteriorating.
I'll swear that I am fine.

I'll slip away into the night.
Silently I'll go.
And this poem I will recite.
