She cheated

by Molly   Feb 23, 2007

As I lay you down
In a sea of crumpled sheets
I'll kiss away your frown,
The haze of my deceit

My hand slowly sides up your side
Tilting your face up to mine
A look at you and I know why I lied
To keep you happy, I'd walk any line

She meant nothing to me
An unforgivable lovers tryst
But you'll never see
We didn't just kiss

My thumb softly caresses your cheek
I cant believe I hurt you
You're so fragile, so meek
But how could you have no clue

Your lips begin to quiver, tears come now
I promise, love, Ill fix us somehow

But how could you not notice
The scratches she made
The change in my kiss
Or the way my smile began to fade

I hold you close and kiss your head
I deceived you when I swore
To never lay in her bed
To never step through her door

You couldn't see the change in me
Even when I threw it in your face
All those nights, wondering where I could be
While I was ripping off her lace

I cheated on you
But want you to know
Over the months I have watched as you grew
As signs of his bastard began to show

So tell me wife?
Who's seen the light?
I took my knife
And found him tonight.
