Deserted Flame

by Unrequited   Feb 23, 2007

Why can't anyone see me?
don't you see that fire,
and its glowing heart?
you lit the flame,
only to douse it.

burning, ash, gravestone;
the destruction of a life force.

you are the light of the world,
and i am left in the dark.

    That is probably the most meaning I've ever seen put into such a short poem. Each time I read it I notice something new... which is highly ironic because it's so short. Your meaning is fairly direct, but leaves a little room open for interpretation.

    Great work! 5/5
