Darkness

My life is like darkness
it's swallowed me whole
consumed my very being
departed my soul

realizing the pain
the sorrow I felt
as I lie here and
cry silently to myself

not believing the words that
came out of your mouth
not even wanting the situation
to be talked about

just leave me alone
I don't want you near
just go along
as I shed my last tear
