Dear Death

by deadbeatromance   Feb 25, 2007

Dear Death,

I can feel your bitter kiss upon my cheek and I know my time will soon come. Any breath now could be my last, as I write you. But before you take me, I have a confession. I never stopped loving him. I never forgot his face, for it never faded from memory. I never forgot the sparkle in his eyes when he smiled. I never forgot the night, I left him, his heart on the floor and broken in two. I never forgot the look of hate upon his face. I never forgot how much I had regretted not going back. I never forgot the sight of him walking down the street, another hand in his. I never forgot the long nights I spent in bed, wishing I'd never wake up. Your presence now, should be a blessing, but even in death, I'll never forget.

Sincerly,

The End
