Crimson Lullaby

by ~angel_girl~   Feb 27, 2007

As a child she handed trust out like candy
So happy and naive of the world around her
All she knew was love and trust
No pain existed in her little world

As she grew older that trust was destroyed
The scars of betrayal ran so deep
Beaten and bloody she loved no more
Pain and hatred, the only feelings she had
Sadness and loneliness, the only emotions she knew

The pain she felt, never ceasing
The burning knife of betrayal stabbing her heart
All she wanted was to be numb
All she wanted was for it to end

No one ever knew the pain that girl felt
Her life had ended far too soon
Destroyed by the greed of those around her
Her life long wish never granted
Her only wish, the wish to be loved

Her bloodstained tears hit the hard earth
As she said goodbye to a world that left her
She silently listened as a song soothed her mind
Taking away all the pain she had felt

The song she had heard is one heard by many
As they leave the world they felt had betrayed them
Gone forever was yesterdayâ??s pain
As her crimson lullaby carried her off
Off to a dreamless, eternal sleep
