Please help me understand, Lord,
Why my life has fallen apart.
Why my hope is slowly fading,
Why my fire flickers but doesn't fade...

I beg of you, Lord,
Help me understand why Satan fights so hard!
Why my heart tears in two,
At even the slightest mention of a father.

I'm desperate, Lord.
Help me understand why my sight is clouded,
Why my heart feels weak,
And my back feels burdened.

Help me, Lord,
To praise you through the storm,
Value life,
and live it all through you...
