My Darkest Secret

As I sit in the dark
I know that no one understands
They don't know what I keep inside.
All that I am and all that I want
Only shows when I'm in the dark.
It is the only happiness I've seen.
I learn about myself
Within this precious solitude.
Oh, how I wait for it
For the time I can be honest.
The time I spend within the dark
Is the time I truly want.
The only problem is...

I'm too scared to sit within the dark alone.
