High School Flame

by Ellie   Mar 1, 2007

She saw her old high school flame
And he thought it was a game.
To mess up her life
By bringing a knife.

When he finally apologized
She didn't reconize.
She became his friend
Thought it would never end.

Her husband went out for a walk
And her high school flame called to talk.
They talked for hours
Then the day went sour.

The time came to ten
Her husband had not come back again.
As she began to worry
She was on the phone in a scurry.

She cried herself to sleep
And in the morning she called the police.
It took them five days
To find the remains.

Her high school flame
Continued the game.
He showed up at the funeral
And the stares were mutual.

As many years past
And many things cast.
The police had no leads
And no one had plead.

As the years piled
Nothing was filed.
Her high school flame called
And she balled and balled and balled.

He called to admit it
But acted like a dim wit.
So she called the police
And said come please.

Her high school flame was arrested
She would've never guessed it.
He was found guilty
But he didn't feel guilty.

She saw her old high school flame
And he thought it was a game.
But when someone gets hurt
That just makes in all worse.
