A Heart's Lullaby

by Cheyanne   Mar 1, 2007

My heart sings best when it bleeds,
red tears, it's how I know I'm alive-
isolation, it's how I know I'm not alone
dark dreams, it's how I know I'm scared

ink that flows from my veins create my words,
spilling myself, for another, not I, your whatever,
useless to bandage my wounds I took for you,
the bullet that missed your heart but pierced mine

more red tears, I keep taking the bullets,
think I'd learn from isolation...but no.
till my blood floods the floor I remain for you,
"it's okay" I'll say as my dry heart sings its lullaby
