Highway Cruise

by TwistedNightmare   Mar 1, 2007

Driving through the darkened night
The taillights hinder my sight,
Roaring cars fly so fast,
Some end up in a fiery crash.

My mind wonders as they go,
The hidden meanings their taillights show.
Where are you going?
Where do you go?

Are you running away?
Embracing the day?
Have you just had enough?
The secrets and lies too much?

Is there an important meeting?
A site worth seeing?
Are you late for a game?
Escaping the pain?

Are you dropping the kids off at school?
On your way to the pool?
A place you need to be?
A play you said you would see?

Are you going to right a sin?
Going to mend the end?
Running away from fate?
Off to become a saint?

What did you forget to say?
Promised to be home one day?
Are you off to find yourself?
Forgot the present on the shelf?

Rushing to the store?
Need to go home to clean the floors?
Off to be wed?
Running from what was said.

Did you just need a brake?
A chance to escape?
Was there something you forgot?
Chasing Pandoras Box?

Heading to an airport?
Just take a detour?
Leaving for your own sake?
Going to the lake?

These are my questions,
Waiting for you explanations.
These are my only clues,
To your highway cruise.
