The Courtroom

by Angie   Mar 1, 2007

Seating in this courtroom...I have mixed emotions...I don't know if i should cry or shoot you...You go up on the stand...Policeman tells you to raise your right hand...The hand that touched me and took my innocence...You say what you have to say...To save yourself from your destiny...Whats done is done...A tear rolls down my cheek...You pierce me with those evil eyes...I go up on stand and testify..."Yes judge thats him"...I talk and relive that gruesome night...The night you took my innocence away...The judge excuses me from the stand...He calls for recess...10 minutes later...I stand by my lawyer...You by yours..."All rise"...The judge has just come in...In the case of Angie vs. Jorge...My decision is made...Guilty...Finally justice is served...My lawyer hugs me and says it over...But I'm in shock...I don't know what to do...I fall to the floor crying... Thats it...Its over...This is one less abuser off the streets...As I'm walking out...My eyes met yours...Behind my tears he can sense my rage toward him...He says sorry...I just look at him...Turn around and walk away...Happy thats over
