The Love Pawn

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 3, 2007

Behold the memories
Of a love that will cease to exist
And a boy
That's lost the will to persist

I'm ashamed of what I've become
This "thing" that crys in bathroom stalls
This "nobody" in denial that it's truly over
This "it" that is numb from all his falls

But don't weep for the broken man
For he does not deserve your tears
Weep for the boy
The boy who has been gone for years

Everyday I hear things that make me sad and broken
Everday I learn something new
Everyday I just try to hold on to nothing
And everyday is because of you

Please don't walk away when I'm trying to talk
Please don't roll your eyes
Because after everything you've put me through
You deserve to hear my cries

I hope that I can forget the way you made me feel
For that feeling is forever gone
What was this entire thing?
A love game where I was just another pawn?

This is a common aspect of looking at situations like this, yet you twisted it somehow and made it really cool. I love this poem.
Oh by the way "Everday" should be Everyday, at least I think so anyway.

If this poem is written on a past or current experience I am truly sorry and offer my condolences. I loved the poem. I too, know how the relationships can feel so painful when one person loses the will to fight for it. Keep it strong mate.
