Autumn

by becca   Mar 4, 2007

Golden leaves falling down from browning trees,
Showering in amber and russet shades,
Fluttering gently in the softest breeze,
In beautiful, autumnal cascades.
Frosty mornings, lightly sprinkled with white,
And grass heavily laden with autumn’s dew,
And the freshest of days that melt into night,
With star-filled, black skies when sunlight is through.
And the scarves and hats that the children wear,
As vibrant fireworks explode over head,
Kids’ joyous gasps condensing in the air,
As the bonfire burns in yellow and red.
And a robin sings, as a blissful sign
Readily awaiting the wintertime.
