The Lost One

I knew I loved you all my life

Hoping someday to become your wife

We went through so much together

Never did I know it wouldn't last forever

How can you love someone so much you say

And in the blink of an eye have it all taken away

I rushed home everyday just to talk to you

You always seemed to make me smile even when I was blue

I seen you everyday and always caught your eye

Your eyes made me feel like they could lift me to the sky

I did one little thing wrong and look what it has done

Somedays I wish you were watching me almost like the sun

The reason I wish you were like the sun is because it always stares

And sometimes it made me think you never even cared

But now I know it just wasn't meant to last

I know now to look to the future not think about the past
