The Trigger

by ♥LoveMe4ever   Mar 7, 2007

The wind blows the fall leaves along the dead lawn.
As mother sits on the front porch she had a drink by her side.
I laughed and played not knowing that it would be the last with her watching.
I watched a tear stream down her face.
It was the first but not the last.
As more came down I watched her slowly reach into her pocket.
I watched her hold the shiny object against her head.
As she pulled the trigger i let a scream as she lay there motionless on the pavement.
I didn't know what to do I was only a little girl.
The police came while I was in my nicest dress.
They told me that i had to say goodbye to my mommy.
Everyone had tears and where all in black.
I didn't know why or what to expect.
I watched them lower her into the ground as grandmother grabbed my hand.
I didn't know that when mommy pulled the trigger that my life would never be the same.
