Don't Read

by Danni   Mar 8, 2007

My mind at peace, I can rest now,
when I go my mind goes to a place a lot like home,
but it's not home at all,
there's no one here but me, no one to trip me and watch me fall,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
when I go, my mind goes to a place so beautiful and divine,
all trees alive and gorgeous,
where things last forever and nothing left behind,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
not having to worry about anyone but me,
I understand my surroundings,
everything so beautiful, it makes me happy and full of glee,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
I hear the thunder rolling in,
the lighting strikes the sky like a bullet,
this day will never end,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
the raindrops fall onto my face,
you would never be able to tell that I was crying,
no matter how many times I come here, that horrible memory I can't erase,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
I may be crying, and I may be sad,
but I will never leave this place,
he should have taken the chance he had,
my mind at peace, I can rest now,
but I hear this longing never found,
a wanting never wanted,
and when I look at my feet, a leaf falls silently to the ground,
this isn't supposed to happen,
that's when my eyelids open and I knew it was just a dream,
a dream of what I want my world to be,
a dream of something I wish I could forever see.
