Love's True Cost

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 8, 2007

You promised you'd never go
Before it happened you told me you would let me know
You were like"Cross my heart, hope to die"
What you really meant was"Break your heart, and watch you cry"

Our love has almost completely ceased exist
Tell me, is there something I missed?
It was far to sudden for my taste
Our love was just pencil, that you erased

I find myself at a loss for words
As I look up, I want to fly away with the birds
But what good would that do anyway?
Without you here my skies are forever gray

Crying all day has turned my eyes bright red
Everything that's left to say has already been said
I just want to run and leave this place
But not before I plead my case

I can't accept that I'm the one to lose
Maybe you'll catch me in the Sunday Morning News
Just keep an eye out for the headline "World's Greatest Loss"
Apparently, this is love's true cost
