A State of Nonexistence

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 9, 2007

Break me down
You know you want to
Go ahead and stomp on my heart
But every time you do it cries out "I love you!"

Causing harm and misery have become your hobbies
So go ahead and hurt me like you do so well
You know its how you get your kicks
It won't hurt because I've already been through hell

I shook hands with the devil
I swam with the lost souls
What have I got to show for it?
Broken dreams and unfulfilled goals

When giving up is no longer an option
And and falling hurts like hell
Then wants a guy to do?
Please if you have an answer, do tell

This lack of knowledge always makes me fall short
It's driving me insane
I can never feel my heart in my body
Because it drags behind me on a chain

Like a dog, I've taught it tricks
Like how to roll over and how to play dead
Because when it's in a state of nonexistence
My eyes don't turn as red

You don't write to me
You don't return my call
You act like I exist
And it continues to make me fall

I may be the first human to the center of the Earth
I'm sinking deeper and deeper
It's funny how I don't even move a muscle
The only person I expect to see is the Grim Reaper
