Burn Out Cold

by Lilith   Mar 9, 2007

The wind it whispers as a soul takes flight
Leaving this world and everything insight
The moon it shimmers as the world takes it's place
Never even mentioning the loss of the human race

The children play and laugh all day long
But I know much better than to listen and play along
Business men and women leave for work
The greed and the anger in them still lurk

The sun stays down even in the day
But the shadows don't seem to fade away
These humans don't seem to ever care
All they do is stop and stare

I know they want the problems to subside
They won't do a thing they just sit there and cry
It seems as though there is no hope
When I speak of change they take it as a joke

This life is far to overrated
Especially since everyone is acting jaded
I know I cannot say such words
Because I have no knowledge of how it works

But even as I sit here waiting
I can see my generation fading
So no I wonder what will take
What will it take to to raise the stakes?
