Divorce

by everything happens for a reason   Mar 9, 2007

She went to her room

and cried alone

she picked up the phone

and cried daddy come home

mommy is not the same since you left

she thought about suicide

she thought about death

he told his Little girl that it'd be OK

daddy's only gone for about a day

but the sound in his voice

and his quite little breaths

made his little girl feel

like she was dying to death

he said I'm sorry honey its just not the same

me and mommy don't love each other its to much pain

he hung up the phone and filled out the form

it'd be over in six months

hopefully four

her dad stopped calling and the visits were short

she wished it would be the same

like when she helped daddy build the fort

but mommy moved on now she's with someone new

he makes her smile and he makes her laugh

and thats how she knows mommy and daddy are through

but when the little girl looks at her parents

her eyes fill with tears and her mouth starts to water

and she cries up to heaven " y couldn't i be the perfect daughter"

she wondered if her mom wouldn't have gotten pregnant with her

would they have ever been standing at the alter

she said " maybe I'm the mistake"

maybe I'm the reason

maybe I'm the reason daddy left during hunting season

but forgive and forget, she loves them still

there's still and empty place only they can fill

to my wonderfull cousin Amanda
