Free Killers

by XxbekkaxX   Mar 14, 2007

Red rose petals dancing
with the black cherry tree
ashes falling and prancing
darkness is all we see
mountains are cracking
rivers are dry
the sky is dimming
children cry
war is (going) on
fighting and killing all around
and no love to be found
hearts aching with pain
drams are lost
tears are falling in vain
dying at no cost
so let us march out
and freely kill our brothers
"FIRE"
we shout and aim our guns
but then die like all the others
we shall dance this dance of death
and we (have) fallen so far
taking peoples last breath
taking lives is so dear
but what of those who don't want to die
what of those who want to live
what did we ever do to you
to make you hate us

I really enjoyed it. I liked how you incorporated the current events with imagery of natural symbols and surroundings. I really liked the first couple lines, they were quite lovely and drew me in. I also liked,
    "dying at no cost
    ...freely kill our brothers
    "FIRE"
I think those really got to the heart of the poem.

    One thing,
"but what of those...what did we evcr do to make you hate us"
That's where the rhyme scheme went off and sort of just faded away.

Overall I enjoyed it, Good read
