Tragedy Inn

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 16, 2007

Now I lay me down to sleep
I start to mourn, I start to weep
And if I die before I wake
Please rip my heart out and burn it at the stake

Jump in and come for a ride
My name's Kevin and I'll be your tour guide
Be forewarned that on this quest
A searing pain will develop inside your chest

Do not worry, however, it's just your heart
And you know that it's just another body part
It is noting less and nothing more
So go ahead and let it drop to the floor

And watch as people trample over it
Somehow its beating never seems to quit
No matter how much pain it should go through
It keeps going like you never knew

Still, no one will bother to pick it up off the ground
Nothing is uttered, no word and no sound
Your body is strained across the concrete the entire time
The way you rest there makes it look like a crime

People simply gaze upon your motionless body
I guess they think returning your heart would be too gaudy
And as they continue to gather and surround
It seems as if there is no hope to be found

Then you see HER face
And all of the pain seems to erase
She pushes through the crowd to where you sit
And upon your body is where she will spit

Your smile turns to tears
Your greatest hopes become your biggest fears
And you listen as your heart beat slows
Then she spins around and goes

Welcome to my life
Well...if you could even call it one
Every single day
I feel like throwing myself into the Sun

I hope you've enjoyed your stay at the Tragedy Inn
Where you will never be able to win
No matter how much you plead and how much you cry
Your heart, covered in footprints, will surely die
